Some News I Meant to Write Up Last Week...

Newtek announces Lightwave 6.0
Heralded by the company as a major advance, Newtek has announced it is shipping Lightwave 6.0 for Windows. The Macintosh version is supposed to come in a month or so...
News Release

Swift3D; maybe not so smart
Swift 3D
is supposed to allow the creation of 3D imagery within Macromedia Flash software. The product will be unveiled at Flashforward2000 conference at the end of March. It will be Windows only, through a Mac version is "to follow."

At the moment even their website is Windows only. When I went there using a Macintosh and IE 4.0 (and Flash 4 installed) I was deposited at a page that told me I needed a 4.0 Browser and Flash 4.0. Couldn't go any further, and couldn't find out anything more.

Digital Photography conference
The "ADVANCING DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY FORUM" will be held APRIL 9-11, 2000 in BOSTON, MA. It's expensive though. Might want to just save your money and buy a
Nikon 990 instead.
